The short answer
A customer service resume should identify the channels you supported, the issues you handled, the tools you used, and how you documented or escalated cases. For remote roles, connect that experience to clear written communication and reliable handovers. Use performance figures only when you can verify them.

Make your support experience specific
“Handled customer concerns” could describe almost any support job. State the channel, the type of issue, and your action: email inquiries about returns, chat troubleshooting for account access, or phone support for order questions.
Keep the job title and company accurate. If your employer was a BPO serving a client, respect confidentiality and describe the account type without naming a restricted client. Your official employment history should remain recognizable.
- Identify the channels you actually supported: phone, email, chat, or social messages.
- Describe the issues you handled and the limits of your decision-making authority.
- Name the tools you used, with examples of case notes or handovers.
- List employment dates consistently and explain overlapping roles if needed.
Show support quality without made-up numbers
If you have access to reliable performance records, you can add a relevant measure with its period and context. Avoid copying a customer-satisfaction score, ticket volume, or resolution rate from this or another example. A resume does not need invented numbers to be specific.
When a figure is unavailable, describe an observable contribution: documented troubleshooting steps, checked unresolved requests, or updated a reply template after a policy change. These details give an interviewer something concrete to discuss.
Prepare for a remote or non-voice support role
For email and chat roles, prioritize written replies, accurate case notes, and escalation examples. If your previous position was phone-based, show related documentation work without changing it into a non-voice role you never held.
Check the posting for location, shift, software, and language requirements. A remote label does not establish that the employer hires in the Philippines. Follow any requested assessment, work-sample, and document-format instructions.
Connect the task to your evidence
| Your experience | What it can demonstrate | Keep the distinction clear |
|---|---|---|
| Email or chat inquiries | Clear replies and understanding the customer’s question | Do not claim channels you have not supported |
| Case notes and handovers | A teammate can continue the issue without missing context | Keep customer information out of public work samples |
| Escalations | Judgment about when another team must decide | Do not claim authority over refunds or billing if you did not have it |

Questions about this resume
- What should a BPO customer-service resume include?
- Include your actual role, employer, employment dates, supported channels, case types, tools, and relevant contributions. Keep client and customer details confidential. Use metrics only when accurate and permitted to share.
- How do I write a non-voice customer-service resume?
- Lead with genuine email, chat, documentation, or written coordination experience. Describe the work accurately; do not relabel a voice-only role as non-voice. Review the specific writing and software requirements in the job ad.
- Should I include a photo?
- Follow the employer’s application instructions. A photo is not required by this template. Prioritize the experience, skills, and contact details needed for the role rather than assuming one format is required by every Philippine employer.
- Is PDF or Word better for customer-support applications?
- Use the file format requested by the employer. Resumiq supports PDF and editable Word exports. Review the final file for correct content and sensible reading order before submitting.
